It is with great sadness that we announce that one of the trustees of The Islamic Academy of Manchester, Muhammad Hassan passed away suddenly yesterday, Saturday 21st November 2015 around Asr time. His death has come as a shock to all as he was fit and well, and had been helping out at City Jamia Masjid after Jumah salah just the day before.
Uncle Hassan was a much-loved and respected member of the Academy and the community. His patience, calm and thoughtful demeanour will be missed by all. It is difficult to do justice to Uncle Hassan’s contributions to our organisation over 40 years in a few words but we have highlighted a couple of notable things.
Uncle Hassan had the honour of being one of the first to enter the building off Upper Brook St in the early 1970s along with Allama Khalid Mahmud sb and others. He was also the last person to leave that building earlier this year ensuring that everything was dismantled before the premises were vacated. He was also one of the most punctual and regular attendees of the weekly Dars-e-Qur’an at the Academy.
He worked tirelessly for the construction of City Jamia Masjid and also helped many other masjid projects in Greater Manchester. We pray that Allah accepts all these good deeds from him and they remain a means of sadaqah jariyah for him until Yaum al-Qiyamah.
He leaves behind his wife and two sons and two daughters. Please pray that Allah grants him Jannat al-Firdaus and grants sabr to all his family and loved ones.
His jinazah salah will be after Zuhr (1.15 PM) tomorrow (Monday 23rd November 2015) insha’Allah at City Jamia Masjid. Car park entrance is via 118 South St, Longsight, Manchester, M12 4DT.
Please check our website regularly in case there are any further updates or changes to the jinazah time.
